So I haven’t blogged yet. I am sorry. We don’t have internet at our house yet, so when I sit down for the thirty minutes I have to spare, I get overwhelmed because I don’t know where to start. I have so much to tell you! It has felt like I have been here at least two weeks, in a good way!

 So here are the essentials
My team picked me up from the airport on Monday night, after my 36 hour flight. I only lost one bag (but dont worry I got it the next day). And it felt so good to see my team outside waiting for me! We had dinner, picked rooms and crashed.

Yes you heard me right picked rooms.

So our friends here, Ali and Stephanie, found us an amazing house in the neighborhood! It is huge- probably too big. We all have our own rooms. It is two stories. The upstairs is all wooden; walls floor ceilings furniture EVERYTHING. Elise and I live upstairs and we decided to name it the “cab” (short for cabin).
Tuesday morning we started school! Khmer (pronounced khmy) – we go to school at LEC (language exchange cambodia) for two hours every morning. We are just learning how essential it is for us to speak the language- not only to talk to girls but to live here!
We have amazing teachers who are great, and I already feel I have learned a lot- basic conversation, numbers, colors, and time!

The rest of the afternoons we have been exploring the culture of Cambodia. Learning not only about the cambodia culture in general but the sex trade as well. We have met a lot of different individuals from anti- trafficking organizations, and the beautiful community here- not just of westerners but the khmer people!
